Motivated by the search for unconventional fossil fuel energy sources, students carried out experiments injecting air and dyed water into gelatine and reproduced the results in numerical simulations. Peter and Ben have taught similar classes on groundwater flow through heterogeneous material and plan to continue - look out for future offerings!
